Is the Cold War Over? Recent statements by China suggest a new “Cold War Mentality,” by the West and new FREEZE! burrrrr!

It is hard to deny the fact that it is getting cold outside in the arena of international relations/politics. Their is no denying the fact that ripping out of Huawei technology out of Britain by 2027 was a political move. Although this is civilian technology are we willing to put that data in the hands of China. For anyone who has travelled to China and lived there they know they are a trustworthy people. Humanist perspective reins supreme and development for all mankind is a necessity.

The loss of control of DATA to the Chinese is seen as an obstacle and one to large for them not to exploit. Meaning, it comes down to who do you trust more? The Chinese just past a Civil Code which also regulates how these companies can use data. Here, i’m afraid it is still the wild west in terms of our data and its protection.

Take for example yesterday’s big four hearing on Big TECH in the USA which is a 5 trillion dollar industry. I would love to see a hearing on the defense industry in the USA and redistribution of its capital rather than Big TECH or even both. The USA is running out of enemies and now its biggest enemy is itself.

Rather than giving us a choice of who we would like as our provider it has whole heartedly stopped any Chinese 5G technology from entering our market. We are on a slippery slope here and when we fall maybe we will see what can happen. The chinese are truly disheartened and this “Cold War Mentality,” sees them out a lot of capital. We have to remember this is civilian technology in control of the chinese government. Anyone who has read anything about marxism if they are even directed to it these days knows marxism is your friend and would be against one’s ideals to exploit another brother or sister. Yes this is very simplified.

Having our data in the hands of capitalist will just get our numbers to the duct cleaners and other telemarketers and who knows what else. Again this is civilian technology for civilian use. If this was defence technology; OK, I understand but if we are to have a global village no one actually should control it.

So, hear me out here. Let us make a global initiative for telecommunications where we can share knowledge and systems so that our elected officials get bad advice from paranoid analysts. Before we rush to decisions let us first look at the consequences of our decisions and how we made them.

Some questions to ask of your elected official. Are they working in your best interest? If there are global solutions to a problem are they willing to make it? Why are they flip-flopping the Chinese, whose interest is that in? If the Aviation and Nuclear industries can be global, why not telecommunications as well?

In the end it all comes down to money. If we can agree to make this a global initiative out of any countries control we as humans can and will have something to strive for. Will it happen? Probably not. Am I hopeful?

All I can do is hope.

Let us make this happen: A Common Sense Approach.
